Kirin (and Sushi)
After having a Kirin beer with my sushi yesterday I feel kinda compelled to write about this.
Kirin is apparently one of the biggest Japanese beer brands and I must say I really like it.
Unfortunately I didn't have my camera on me to take pictures of the bottle and the nice sushi,
but it looked something like this:
Apparently the Japanese (or foreigners that like sushi, I don't know) like to drink Kirin while eating sushi.
You probably all know the in-game Kirin, right now E, Dori, Ichi and I are slaughtering tons of them together with Kikuji in what feels like the 100th Ichi Gold run today. All thanx to Ichi!!
Just to make sure, here's a link to the Kirin page on the Wiki:
Kirin @ MegatenWiki
I must excuse myself for not yet finding the time to read the informations on Wikipedia about Kirin.
I just glanced over it, and it seems interesting, but instead of summing it up for you I can only give you the links right now and you'll have to read it yourself if you're interested :)
So here goes the collection of links related to Kirin the horse and Kirin the beer ^^
Kirin Holdings - the company that makes the beer
Kirin Beer @ Wikipedia
Qilin - the mystical creature @ Wikipedia
I would really like to ride Kirin (or Bai Ze) but it does seem hard to get a mount ring.
Here's what I found about that on the forums:
Pre-Intaglio Kirin
"Care Gift from either Kirin or Nimble Kirin. Amity level has to be at least trusting. Negotiation prize from normal Kirins (rare). "
I'll finish this post with some nice drawings of Kirins I found online
Presenting: EWiggin (Clanleader)
This is a SS of my main character E. I asked everyone to start calling me that after they called me EW or EWIG or anything else like that. I like just plain old "E" for this char or my others. Their names are PWiggin and VWiggin. I am sure you are sensing a trend here in my character's names so let me explain. they are based on a book by Orson Scott Card called Ender's Game. Ender Wiggin was the youngest sibling and was called on to basically lead Earth's forces into space to defeat--well you get the jist... His Siblings are names Peter and Valentine.
Anywho, my char takes some from Ender Wiggin from the book and borrows the wardrobe from Doctor Who. He is wearing the Baroque Suit almost fully synthed with the 3 Harpy Sisters combo as well as the Orthus and Cerberus combo for more Fire damage. I have (not in the pic) Rider's gloves for extra Fire Damage with a Nekomata crystal fused on for extra charming power. My main weapon is usually a 3 slotted Rambus SVD I made myself as fully modded as I could with a Flamies SS synthed on it as well. (Nothing cuts through most dungeons like a Flamies SS'd rifle.) I have max Magic Bullet and class 1.5 Curse of the Wretched Chain expertises. Most of my stats have been put into Speed with 20 in Vitality, Luck, and Intelligence also. (The stat spread was more for speed in switching and using skills as well as the lng-r that makes gunners so strong.) Fully buffed, and with my SVD, I have 140+ LNG-R.
Not much else to say. I spend most of my time in-game helping clannies and leveling my demons and myself mostly. Let me know what you think.

The guide to being a newb
There's a german saying:
"Wer lesen kann ist klar im Vorteil"
This means those who can read are at a clear advantage.
This is true to so many things and especially true to Megaten.
So this guide will not teach you how to play Megaten,
but will instead teach you how to learn playing Megaten.
The first and most important thing is the Megaten Forum.
There's a ton of information on here and the most important posts
are almost always stickied, so you'll find them at the top of the page.
What should you read in there?
New Player Help has useful information about builds and Acts.
Most important to you will probably be the thread about your Class:
Caster for Shotmages, DD-mages, Enhancers and the like
Gunner is pretty self-explanatory
Melee
and also
Crafter/Synther if you want to specialize on construction instead of fighting.
I would NOT recommend a newb to make a Crafter or Synther since it can be very frustrating and boring.
There's so many more interesting/informative topics in the forums.
Just go and check it out, visit the pages that sound interesting to you and make sure to check the stickies (threads at the top with a little read dot on them).
Now what's important beside the forum?
Definitivly the Wiki. It has soooo much information and helped me a lot.
Over the forum it has the advantage of being more clearly structured and having
all the useful information concentrated. It does however lack up-to-dateness sometimes.
One important thing to note about the Wiki is, that not only the menu on the lefthand-side contains
a lot of stuff but also the main page is full of links to usefulness that can't be found on the menu.
One of the greatest links I found was Technical Data. If you like to calculate things but don't know how:
Check it out! It rox!!
Since Megaten is originally Japanese it doesn't surprise, that the Japanese community has a bigger collection
of Megaten-knowledge than the English-speaking one. That's why the Japanese Wiki is sometimes useful.
It's a bit tough to find your way through, google-translate is really not perfect yet :).
But I have personally managed to find helpful information on the JWiki I couldn't find on the American one.
Last but not least people keep asking about SI. SI stands for Soul Infusion and is also known as Spiritual Mixing. It is described in the Wiki, in the Forum and there's also an in-depth guide by Finella.
After reading those I could rather easily sort out my last confusion by talking for a short while to an
experienced player about it, and hopefully so can you :).

Presenting: 3sm3r4ld4
Account: SirKerensky
Main-character: 3sm3r4ld4
Alt-characters: none so far
My only char is a girl, but I'm actually a guy and you can just call me Felix if you like.
3sm3r4ld4
Level 52 Magic Bullet (MB) / SharpShooter (SS) - Gunner
I'll explain the name first of all, because it might be confusing to some.
I wanted to call her Esmeralda, but since that name was already in use
I simply put it in 1337 (google ftw) replacing letters with numbers.
Attributes
So far it's all speed, after reaching 99 I'll put some points in Magic (to increase MB damage) and some in Luck for more critical hits.
Expertise
I knew pretty much from the beginning, that I wanted both MB and SS.
Since the major expertises for both are Shot and Gun Knowledge they go together well enough.
As E is experiencing now, raising Demonolgy to Class 2 is a real bitch.
At the moment I have Destruction Magic at Class 1 and Bless at Class 1, giving me access to Curse of the Wretched (CotW). Since I don't really use it much I'm thinking about leathing off DM and Bless and raising Magic Control instead to increase the elemental damage of Magic Bullets.
I have Talk maxed out at Class 2-0 to be able to contract demons more easily.
Once I'll be able to use a Lilith soulstone (lvl 75) I'll lethe off Talk too.
My final expertise build will probably look like this:
Shot 9-0
Curse Magic 2-0
Demonology 2-0
Gun Knowledge 9-0
Magic Control 4-0
At the moment I have Shot 4-7 and Gun Knowledge 3-6 and although grinding Hua Pos at Home III is tireing it still feels great everytime I go up a rank. I'll use maintenance- and weekend-bonuses in combination with incences to gain some ranks in the next weeks.
Equipment
I like my looks, but I don't really have any strong items yet, except maybe for my action bracelet (i SSed it with a Gaki for mor speed):
I finally decided to use the False Comp I bought a while ago today, even though so many people have a COMPrella (well, I guess it's because they're good). As Dori suggested I would very much like to SI it with a Move COMPrella if I can get my hands on one.
I've got a cute flower on my head, which so far does nothing but +2 Luck so it needs to be SIed with something too. I love the St. Hermelin outfit, although it doesn't really do much good and will eventually be SIed too. For guns I really don't know right now. Of course an Avalon-24 would eventually be nice, but I'm reluctant to spend a lot of money on a good gun, since repaircosts will be crazy too.
For now I'm mostly using the standard Type 54 because I love the looks of it and it's basically free.
When I need some more firepower I employ the GM-16 E made for me.
I'm planning to get the 3 Harpy Sisters Soulstone Set, Mithra, Hres and probably Pa Bil Sag for shoes in the long run. Items I really want to have:
Roping Scarf (too cute), Outlaw Glasses, a Christmas Citrine Ring and maybe an Astrocaster or what those guitars are called for the back. So if you see any for those on sale in bazaars pls tell me ASAP! ;)

Presenting: Your Main
Ok, I thought it would be cool if everyone presented their main character as short or long as he or she likes.
Also it would be helpful if people with several characters listed all their characters and what kind of character they are really shortly in addition to a more detailed description of their main (if you like, don't feel put under pressure or anything, this is just for fun).

Megido @ Blogger
Inspired by Clan Destiny's blog I decided to create this blog for Megido.
The forum might still be usefull for internal discussions and spontaneous things,
but I feel this format here is better to present things and give overviews.
I'll start with content right away, presenting my-ingame-self.
